Counselling gives you the time and space to examine your situation and explore in depth how you truly think and feel about what is problematic in your life. It is the opportunity to look in detail at an issue from a number of angles.
My approach, as the counsellor, is person-centred. I support you in your search for answers and positive ways forward that stem from the skills and abilities existing within you.
There is, however, no pressure to do or change anything; just the invitation to share what is causing emotional or psychological distress. Sharing this can help reduce its impact on your life, alleviating a sense of isolation, and clarifying the issue. You can then consider the possibility of change and how change will influence other factors in your life.
